     Dr. Angela M. Barbara is an Assistant Professor and Research Associate in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact (HEI) at McMaster University. She has a PhD in Heath Research Methodology from McMaster University and a MSc degree in Health Services Research from Wake Forest University. In her current position, she brings her vast professional experience in medical and applied clinical research to the area of bleeding disorders. Dr. Barbara has recently recently been funded to conduct a clinical epidemiological investigation of inhibitor development in previously treated patients with hemophilia A.

     She is the Project Manager of the Canadian Hemophilia Safety and Surveillance System (CHESS). Her research has also included identification of patient-important outcomes in hemophila and the development of decision tools in hemophilia treatment for health care providers and users. Dr. Barbara is also currently working on a systematic review of treatments for HIV and hepatitis C virus.

After joining HiRU as a full time programmer in 2008, Nicholas Hobson has helped streamline and automate a number of important processes within the group. He is responsible for the development of MacPLUS FS , ACCESSSS, and WAPPS-Hemo project. A real team player, he has collaborated on numerous studies published by HiRU staff including such topics as computerized clinical decision support systems, patient adherence and the development of search strategies.

In his spare time, Nicholas can be found hiking the Bruce trails in and around Hamilton, tinkering with his own software or working on various home improvement projects.

     Tamara Navarro-Ruan is a Research at the Health Information Research Unit (HiRU) in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact (HEI) at McMaster University. She has a Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Western Ontario and a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Alberta. Her knowledge and experience in research methods, information processing and knowledge acquisition form a basis of the various tasks she undertakes. Ms. Navarro-Ruan recently participated in a Systematic Review of Patient Adherence of Prescription Medication.

She is the Project Manager of the Web-based Application for the Population Pharmacokinetic Service – Hemophilia (WAPPS-Hemo) project. She is also currently helping with a National Hemophilia Federation – McMaster Care Models for Hemophilia Management guideline.
