Assistant Professor and Research Associate in the Department of Clinical
Dr. Angela M. Barbara is an Assistant Professor and Research Associate in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact (HEI) at McMaster University. She has a PhD in Heath Research Methodology from McMaster University and a MSc degree in Health Services
Research from Wake Forest University. In her current position, she brings her vast professional experience in medical and applied clinical research
to the area of bleeding disorders. Dr. Barbara has recently recently been funded to conduct a clinical epidemiological investigation of inhibitor
development in previously treated patients with hemophilia A.
She is the Project Manager of the Canadian Hemophilia Safety and Surveillance System (CHESS). Her research has also included
identification of patient-important outcomes in hemophila and the development of decision tools in hemophilia treatment for health care providers and
users. Dr. Barbara is also currently working on a systematic review of treatments for HIV and hepatitis C virus.
